Mperia.com is one of many indie music stores. The aim here is to give artists the chance to connect straight to listeners and sell their tunes. This one is really geared toward helping out the bands, but if you are any sort of real indie kid, then your sentiments will likely be the same. Some really good music here.

Metal Blade is a heavy metal portal for all the diehard rockers out there. Some stuff is free, some is to be paid for. Lots of downloads.

Keep searching though and you should be able to find some stuff worth listening to. The website was recently sold.

Pure Volume. This hip website is the place to be for rock, indie and metal music. There are heaps of tracks available for free download. There are also forums, charts and videos to watch. Listen to streaming music from hot new bands and check out their tour dates and official websites. The site is clearly run by people who love the music they are promoting.

K Recs is a US indie label with lots of bands. Looks like each band has a track to download for free. Worth checking for some new music.

Fat Wreck is a site with general indie and rock music CDs for sale. Buy downloads through iTunes. Has a few free MP3s for downloads as well. Worth checking for the free stuff.

Get free MP3 downloads of some really noisy bands and artists at Noise MP3. Not for the faint of hard. It’s all very loud and a bit scary. You can also buy tracks from the latest noise artists. The music is very “harsh”.
