Creativecommons.org is a pretty strange site with 16 tracks that appeared on a Wired-magazine CD once. All the tracks were made under the Creative Commons license, so you can do with them as you please. Beastie Boys and David Byrne appear here.

Ear Buzz is a cool place to buy indie music. Lots of full tracks to check out. This is a decent place if indie is your thing. There is a drop-down menu with countless genres, but the focus is on independent music.

United Bands is one for the indie kids here. Bands from all over the world, although mostly from the US here. A real community site where you can vote for your favorite bands and write journal entries.
