June 29th, 2008   Subsciption-based music websites

eMusic.com is a subscription site charges a monthly fee with which you can download a certain number of tracks. At the time of writing, the fees are $9.99 for 30 MP3s, $14.99 for 50 MP3s and $19.99 for 75 MP3s. If you work it out, it’s cheaper than iTunes for the number of songs you get. Downloads are fast and the system is easy to use. Doesn’t have the same selection as iTunes or Amazon, but there is lots of great music here, particularly from lesser-known artists.
