Ares File Sharing
Ares is a website that offers an Ares download that allows you to then connect to a free file sharing website. That is not all that Ares offers. They also offer the ability to burn your own cd’s, dvd’s, and games. They differ from some other music file sharing websites because they offer chat rooms as well. They even come with twenty four hour free technical support.
Ares claims to have over one hundred million files being shared. When visiting their website, there is a message at the bottom of the home page saying that Ares Vista is the newest version and should be used. It says that all other copies should not be used because they are having ‘connection’ issues. A look around the home page also notes a reference that Ares is an open source program and doesn’t have any owners for the RIAA to target.
If you are thinking about downloading Ares, it should be noted that I use the Opera web browser and when I went to the home page for Ares, I was given an official Opera fraud warning. It said that the website has been reported for distributing malicious software and that any software from the website may be harmful. They also noted they discouraged me from visiting the website. As with any file sharing, please use common sense and do not download without having some kind of up to date virus, adware and spyware programs.
