Catholic Church: thumbs down on Avatar
p2pnet news view | Movies:- The Catholic church wasn’t too impressed by the new 3D flick Avatar, apparently.
The Vatican newspaper and radio station called it “simplistic, and criticized it for flirting with modern doctrines that promote the worship of nature as a substitute for religion,” says the Associated Press.
L’Osservatore Romano e said the film “gets bogged down by a spiritualism linked to the worship of nature.”
Not only but also, “Vatican Radio said it ‘cleverly winks at all those pseudo-doctrines that turn ecology into the religion of the millennium’,” says the story.
BUT –– Vatican Radio did say “really never before have such surprising images been seen”.
