Hilary Rosen MPAA’s new boss
p2pnet view MPAA:- Ex-RIAA boss Hilary ‘Reach Out’ Rosen (left) is to become the next head of Hollywood’s MPAA, p2pnet has learned.
She’ll take over when Dan ‘The Joker’ Glickman (right) leaves to take up his duties as the man in charge of Refugees International after his sudden and unexpected departure from the MPAA (Motionless Picture Association of America).
“Mr. Glickman brings to RI a long history of public service, fighting hunger and helping underserved people in the U.S. and around the world,” p2pnet quoted the organisation as saying when news of his appointment broke.
The two are pictured here shortly after the announcement was made by martial arts star Chuck Norris on behalf of the MPAA board of directors.
“I am sure the valuable experience I gained initiating and then running Phase One of the RIAA Sue ‘Em All marketing campaign will stand me in good stead”, Rozen said in a statement.
“The economy of the United States depends to a very significant degree on the continuing success of the MPAA’s copyright enforcement progam and I know I am in leaving the MPAA in Hilary’s safe hands”, said Glickmon in a press release.
She and Glyckman will be the star guests at an exclusive invites-only White House banquet on February 31.
Rosen, “Editor-at-Large for The Huffington Post and CNN Political Contributor, is a respected figure in the world of politics and entertainment”, says the Huffington Post.
“After his defeat in 1995, Glickman was chosen by President Clinton to serve as Secretary of Agriculture”, says NNDB.com. “There he oversaw sweeping meat inspection reforms, including the implementation of the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) program. After Bush won the White House, Glickman left government.”
Rosen will confer with past and present colleagues at the US Department of Justice before she takes up her new position.
