‘Iranian Cyber Army’ subverts Twitter
p2pnet news view P2P | Politics:- “Twitter’s DNS records were temporarily compromised but have now been fixed. We will update with more information soon.”
So says a bland Twitter tweet. And in an update, “As we tweeted a bit ago, Twitter’s DNS records were temporarily compromised tonight but have now been fixed,” says the Twitter blog, adding:
“As some noticed, Twitter.com was redirected for a while but API and platform applications were working. We will update with more information and details once we’ve investigated more fully.”
An Iranian Cyber Army “managed to take Twitter down for approximately and hour before Twitter service was restored,” explains NowPublic, going on:
“It is uncertain exactly who or what the Iranian Cyber Army is but hacker either claiming to be Iranian or actually of Iranian descent are not new. One thing is clear is these Iranian Cyber Attackers appear to support the existing government in Tehran.”
Declared the message >>>
This site has been hacked by the Iranian Cyber Army. The USA thinks they control and manage internet access, but they don’t. We control and manage the internet with our power, so do not try to the incite Iranian people.
It “also included a poem in Persian which said: ‘We shall strike if the leader orders, we shall lose our heads if the leader wishes’,” says the BBC, adding:
“Also included were the words: ‘Those that wage fight on the path of God win.’
“Some have suggested the attack is retaliation over the use made of Twitter during protests surrounding the Iranian election.”
