Vevo site goes offline
p2pnet news view | Music:- Vevo, the GooTube, UMG, Sony thingy that’s going to save the video music industry, went tits up yesterday, reporting ‘error’.
“Site availability problems are generally caused by one of three problems,” observes The Register, “insufficient bandwidth, poor coding or not enough server grunt.”
The story has Vevo saying Vevo.com was “working diligently to enhance the infrastructure required”.
“hahahaha what did they think?” – asks a p2pnet reader who knows about these things — “Yeah let’s run it on Windows with IIS.”
He adds, “My God bunch of idiots trying to run a thing like that on Windows.”
Asked what impact Vevo could have on the industry, “Nothing will ’save’ the music business, but every little thing helps,” said Sheryl Crow at the launch party.
(Cheers, Cliff)
