Universal and Sony are the two major stakeholders — along with giant online advertising company Google, of course.

It owns GooTube.

“This is our opportunity with Vevo to take back control of our product,” recently stated Morris who, not insignificantly,  one would think, has been put out to pasture on the the app which won’t save the music biz.

Not according to Sheryl Crow, anyway.

Thus, “labels, artists, and music publishers” are included in list of people Vevo was created to “capitalize on music videos, and to help Google (YouTube’s owner) offload some of the cost associated with administering rights to them,” the story.

In other words, Rosoff goes on, “this isn’t a business-to-consumer play, it’s more of a business-to-business arrangement”.

Well Duh!
