Zynga Mafia Wars spyware

“Mafia Wars is from a company called Zynga. For me, there’s nothing amusing about the Mafia and there’s no way I’d join anything which bases itself on a deeply evil gang which depends for its existence on extortion and terror.
“(Vivendi Universal, EMI, Warner Music and Sony Music’s RIAA, anyone?)”
Now, “Zynga (the company that develops Mafia Wars) does not give a rats a** after injecting a spyware cookie into the game,” says i_hate_zyng’s Reddit post, suggesting:
“Upvote and let the others know how a company can screw up your security for personal monetary gains!”

A few weeks ago we rolled out a faster version of Mafia Wars however many of our players encountered issues unrelated to our game. We’ve been diligently working on the issue, and yesterday we successfully launched a faster version of Mafia Wars. One thing to note, to release the faster version we had to drop a cookie on your browser. Therefore if your browser doesn’t accept cookies, you may be receiving an error message. We want to clearly state that these cookies are for this purpose only and not for any other reason. At Zynga, we take your privacy seriously.
If you’re experiencing the error message previously mentioned, please go to your browser’s Options menu, and change the privacy settings to accept 3rd party cookies. This should fix your error. We hope you enjoy the faster version of Mafia Wars.
